alright just recently got my Zenith to work greatly with my directv remote. thanx a lot for ur help bro!
now just got one question: would u know how to program the directv remote to a VCR? let alone a VCR thats built into the TV [also might i add that it's built into my Zenith]
i’d like to record off my tv and save it to my tapes to keep forever. and yes, lol i probly will still be using tapes forever from now. i don’t trust everything going digital. its also a way to watch old taped home vids
I was trying to do this on my own and i somehow got my remote to kind of lock it self and it wont work change channels or anything but it still works? any andvice on how to like unlock it?

the volume up button on the remote sends me to the tv menu =/
i can turn the volume down but not up…why?

yep i got a Zenith dude and it’s taking a long time to get it to switch power by hitting ‘channel up’ in that last step before hitting ‘select’. really me and my friend hav been sitting here for like 10 or 15 minutes now repeatedly hitting ‘channel up,’ but WE CAN SWEAR that we’re following the first steps just right. i mean can it typically take that long?
do you need the direct tv box thing to do it?

Ah yes a vizio one of my favs. Those ones are tricky because there is a delay before the tv actually turns on. you have to go very slow when putting in the code and then what i would do is push up and down on the channel button until i knew for sure I landed on the right one.
