Vizio remote to work with DirecTv receiver?

I'm trying to figure out how/ if there is a way to make my stock Vizio TV remote my primary remote control so that it works with my TV, DVR, and DVD player. All I have been able to find is how to make the DirecTv remote the primary. Thing is, I personally do not like the DirecTv remote and prefer my stock Vizio controller not to mention at the moment there are three separate remotes in my living room right now making things much more cluttered than they should be. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.
If it helps anyone, my television model number is E420VO.
